Happy Monday!

We're off to another great new week in second grade! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

Homework Packet 21 is posted on the right side of this blog and it is due Friday. A couple notes about the homework:

*The math problems continue to be challenging. The section with money will be a challenge. These are new problems and we will work on them in class. Do not be discouraged if your child struggles with these.

*The subtraction problems are also challenging; we have worked on these in class and you child should be able to complete this. If you child has trouble, ask him/her to remember the chant we say to help us subtract.

We have a lot of fun and exciting things planned this week! Today we finished our study on Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs - thank you to all the second graders for their hard work! We will continue our study of weather and we will finish it this week.

Our work with fractions continues. This week we will study more about equivalent fractions and we have a lot of great tools to help us while we learn these difficult concepts. Please ensure that you are completing the Home Links and bringing them back the next day.

The second graders are working hard in writing! We will have several Writers' Workshops this week to allow everyone to finish their Cloudy stories, their weather acrostic poems and their field trip stories. I am so proud of the children for doing their very best work!

This Friday's Spirit Day is TWIN DAY!!! Pick a friend and come dressed up as twins! Can anyone guess who they think will be my twin for the day???

This Friday is Walk and Roll to School! I will be walking to school. Will you???
