Friday Is Our Favorite Day!

Happy Weekend, Everyone!

This week just flew by! We had Stanford Testing on Monday and Tuesday and then we were back in the swing of things by Tuesday afternoon. Thanks to everyone for going with the flow and working hard.

We finished our study of fractions today with our Chapter 8 Test. Next week we begin our study of measurement. A Family Letter went home today to let parents know about the material we will cover in the next chapter.

We had a very busy week of writing! Everyone is now finished editing and rewriting their weather acrostic poems. They are hanging up in the classroom and they are great! The kids worked hard on their word choice and the pictures are full of detail! Nice work, friends!

Our study of weather is now complete and next week we begin an exciting author study on Eric Carle! I have a lot of fun lessons planned and I am so excited to share them with my students! Get ready to discover a whole new world of Eric Carle - he is so much more than just The Very Hungry Caterpillar! We did a little bit of research on Eric Carle today in computers to get focused on our study for next week. It's going to be a great week!

We will have MAP testing next week and the following week. We are scheduled for reading on Monday and math the following Monday.

A big THANK YOU to the five children who answered my weekly questions correctly on my blog! These kids earned a nice prize of treats, toys and bee bucks! This week 5/25 children completed the questions. Next week I hope that 25/25 (or 1 WHOLE CLASS!!!) will be up for the challenge! Be sure to check my blog early in the week and see if you can answer all the questions!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Mrs. Johnston
